Guidelines for the Safety Assessment of Foods Derived from Genetically Modified Crops in Kenya
EN
Guidelines
These guidelines outline the general framework for conducting food and feed safety assessments of genetically modified (GM) crops in Kenya. They provide guidance to applicants, expert reviewers, risk assessors, and decision-makers on the data requirements for food and feed safety assessment. It also describes a clear stepwise process for assessing the safety of foods and feeds derived from GM crops. The guidelines also clarify the specific parameters considered in determining safety of foods and feeds obtained from GM crops. As general guidance, the assessment approach is not crop-specific and will be tailored to the particular GM crop under evaluation.
